GGPoker Casino Review
For poker fans in Ontario, this could be the best online casino for you. I break it all down in my GGPoker review.
- GGPoker licensing, responsible gambling, and security
- Payment methods at GGPoker
- GGPoker’s game selection
- User experience at GGPoker
- Popularity of GGPoker
GGPoker licensing, responsible gambling, and security
Security is always at the top of the list of our priorities when writing casino reviews, so I take a look at GGPoker’s licences, responsible gambling features, and security measures.
| Legal Gambling Age |
|---|
| GGPoker only accepts players over 19, which is the legal gaming age in Ontario. Your age will be verified when you register, so be prepared to provide identification. |
GGPoker’s licences
The information about GGPoker’s licence and a link to its certificate are in a fixed position at the bottom of every page.
- Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) – Licence No. OPIG1231707
- iGaming Ontario
Responsible gaming in GGPoker
GGPoker’s responsible gambling page includes many of the items I look for when reviewing casinos. The casino provides tips for safe play and deconstructs common gambling misconceptions. GGPoker takes its time to stress the importance of preventing minors from using the casino and provides links to various parental control filters that protect underage users and prevent access to the casino. There are links to help organizations, such as ConnexOntario and Gambling Therapy, as well as a link to a self-assessment test.
GGPoker supplies several very useful responsible gambling tools:
- Breaks in Play: Players can take breaks in their gambling activities for 1, 7, 30, 60, or 90 days. The break prevents them from placing wagers.
- Self-exclusion: Players can also implement a more extreme break, in the form of a self-exclusion period, which blocks access to their account entirely, for 6 months, 1 year, or 5 years.
- Deposit Limits: Players can set limits on their daily, weekly, or monthly deposits.
- Loss Limits: Players can set daily, weekly, or monthly limits on their losses.
- Reality Checks: Players can set pop-up reminders for an hour, two hours, four hours, or six-hour periods to help control the length of gaming sessions.
GGPoker’s responsible gambling page is pretty complete, even if wager and session limits could be added as tools.
| Addiction risk: play responsibly |
|---|
| Casino games should only be used for entertainment purposes, and not as a source of income. If you feel your gaming habits are becoming problematic, reach out to ConnexOntario or Gamblers Anonymous Canada. |
What makes GGPoker safe
Besides its responsible gambling efforts and licensing, I found other security measures during my GGPoker review that work to maintain a secure gaming space in Ontario:
- Terms and policies are easy to find and clearly defined
- GGPoker’s games use Random Number Generators certified by BMM Testlabs
- 256-bit SSL encryption
- 2FA is available
Our rating of GGPoker’s licensing, responsible gambling, and security
| What we checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Licences | 10/10 | GGPoker is AGCO and iGO licensed with full operator transparency. |
| Responsible Gambling | 9/10 | A full responsible gambling suite is available, with links to external resources. It’s missing very few tools. |
| Security | 5/5 | SSL is in place, with a page dedicated to the RNGs, and other necessary policy pages are all available. |

GGPoker accepts many of the most widely used casino payment methods in Ontario:
- LuxonPay

- PayPal
- Apple Pay
- Interac
- MuchBetter
All of these are available for both deposits and withdrawals, except for Apple Pay.
| Financial Risk Warning |
|---|
| Playing games at a casino is never without risk since it involves real money. The casino will always have the house edge, meaning many players lose out over time. Always set limits and stick to them. |
Minimum deposit & withdrawal processing times
The minimum deposit at GGPoker is $10, as is the minimum withdrawal, although only for PayPal and LuxonPay. Other options have a withdrawal minimum of $20.
Withdrawals typically take around 24 hours to process, but can take up to 72 hours. With bank transfers, it can take another 1–3 days for the funds to hit your account after processing.
How to withdraw from GGPoker
- Go to the cashier.
- Select the withdrawal tab.
- Choose your withdrawal method.
- Enter how much you want to withdraw.
- Enter your payment details and confirm.
Other important information to know when withdrawing
- The maximum withdrawal values range from $5,000 to $50,000.
- The weekly and monthly withdrawal limits are based on each player’s account.

Documents and information to share with GGPoker
In order to have a verified account, you need to provide the following documents:
- Proof of ID: passport, ID card, or driving licence

GGPoker’s games selection
Since GGPoker specializes in poker rooms and other table games, in this section of the review, I’ll be giving you an overview of what’s available, focusing more on the poker side of the casino. I’ll still take a look at the casino’s online slots selection, as well as survey GGPoker’s game providers.
GGPoker online slots
Although the focus is on table games, GGPoker does offer a menu of popular online slots. The selection includes an impressive list of GGPoker originals, exclusive to the casino.

GGPoker has categories for bonus buy slots, progressive jackpots, and megaways slots, so while the casino is an intended haven for poker players, it hasn’t forgotten about players looking for good options for online slots.

GGPoker live dealer games
Poker
GGPoker hosts several online poker rooms for different poker variants. The most popular variants are Texas Hold’Em poker, 6+ Short Deck, and Omaha, but there are other poker variants available. The casino holds numerous poker tournaments.
GGPoker also has special features in its app that can add an edge to the online poker experience. My favourite is being able to send a short video or voice message to the table. I love poker, so being able to chirp my opponents beyond a mere chat message is a cool feature.
Other casino games
Of course, GGPoker also offers a selection of blackjack, baccarat, and roulette tables in its live casino of over 200 games, which is fueled by leaders in live casino gaming, such as Pragmatic Play and OnAir Entertainment. For fans of game shows, GGPoker offers more than 20.

GGPoker game providers
GGPoker has partnered with the World Series of Poker to provide a high-quality experience for its players, giving them access to WSOP tournaments. It is the only casino in Ontario where this is possible.
Our rating of GGPoker’s games selection
| What we checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Games Variety | 8/10 | While one expects to find a lot of poker tables at GGPoker, one doesn’t expect much of a selection for online slots. Happily, GGPoker ignores such expectations and delivers a good selection of popular casino games. |
| Live Casino Experience | 5/5 | GGPoker offers high-quality streaming for its live games. The casino offers an extensive selection of poker tournaments and tables. |
| Game Providers | 4/5 | GGPoker is partnered with several top game providers, but has a unique partnership with the WSOP, which offers experiences that other casinos cannot. |
| TOTAL | 13/20 |
User experience at GGPoker
In the next section of my GGPoker review, I’ll be considering the player experience. I’ll look at customer support, website navigation, and the casino’s mobile capabilities.
GGPoker’s customer support
Support is available 24/7 at GGPoker. The support team can be contacted via live chat or email. While live chat is definitely the faster option, I was impressed with the speed and detail from email support. Initially, it took 1.5 hours to receive a response from support, but after that, my waiting times were 15–30 minutes long. The responses were clear and helpful, too.
| [email protected] | ~ 30 minutes+ | |
| live chat | 24/7 | Instant |
The casino also features a good FAQs page, which covers queries regarding accounts, security, payments, technical issues, and games.
User navigation at GGPoker
GGPoker has a fine website, with a sleek and clean theme, but players can only access the casino via the casino’s app, which players will have to download.
Once players install the app on their device, getting around GGPoker won’t be difficult. The focus is on poker, so if players are looking for other games, they need to toggle to the “casino,” “slot,” or “live casino” menus. It took me a moment or two to figure things out and orient myself, but once I did, I could fly around GGPoker without issue.
I did have an issue with the FAQs on the website, though. The page became glitchy when I hovered over questions in an effort to select them, which made it tricky to use the FAQs.

GGPoker’s mobile experience
For players who prefer to play on mobile, GGPoker’s app is easier to navigate than the desktop version. With menus fixed to the bottom, I found it easier to use it this way.
The “Home” page on mobile is different than it is on desktop. The desktop version offers lists of tournaments, educational videos, access to special features, and other promotions. On the mobile version, on the other hand, the Home page features a menu of game types, from slots and table games to live casino games and tournaments. I found the mobile set-up worked better
Our rating of GGPoker’s User Experience
| What we checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Customer Support | 6/7 | Live chat support is available 24/7, with a reliable email service also available. |
| User Navigation | 4/7 | Navigation is mostly smooth, thanks to filters and well-labelled pages, though there was some glitchiness around the FAQs on the website. |
| Mobile Experience | 6/6 | GGPoker has a downloadable app that provides direct access to the casino. |
| TOTAL | 16/20 |
Popularity of GGPoker
The overall feedback on Trustpilot leans negative. Many players were upset and felt let down by their experience. The main complaints were that the site is a scam and that the Random Number Generators are fake, meaning players will lose all the time. There are some positive reviews, but 56% of the total reviews are negative one-star reviews.
| What we checked | Score | Why this score? |
|---|---|---|
| Player Reputation | 3/10 | The overall feedback was negative, with many reports stating players felt scammed. |
| Market Visibility | 9/10 | GGPoker is a recognized global brand with celebrity ambassadors. |
| TOTAL | 12/20 |
GGPoker | An established online poker platform
This is one for the serious poker fans out there. GGPoker is one of the best names out there for online poker rooms. Besides poker, this casino hosts several other casino games, like blackjack, baccarat, and roulette, meaning there’s a great choice available. The slots library is a little more limited, but surprisingly still a very solid selection.
When it comes to payment options, players in Ontario will be glad to see the selections available, with widely used payment options like Interac, Visa, and various e-wallets. On top of that, the minimum deposit and withdrawal values are pretty accessible at $20 and $10, respectively.
In all other areas, GGPoker didn’t disappoint, having an excellent responsible gambling suite that provides helpful tools and links to resources. Plus, there’s 24/7 support available that is quick to respond.
The site is easy to use, although the glitchiness I experienced in the FAQs section was frustrating. It made it harder to get to the questions I wanted, so hopefully the casino fixes that.
There is negative feedback on Trustpilot, though, so I would advise you to proceed with a bit of caution. In the end, my GGPoker review concludes with a 77/100 rating.
